North Bastar Kanker, As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, and the Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh, Raipur, a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign of electoral rolls was launched in Kanker district. Following the effective conduct of various phases of the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) campaign, which began across the state on October 27, 2025, and continued for four months, the final publication of the electoral rolls was completed on Saturday. According to the final publication of the voter list, the total number of voters in Kanker district has increased to 5,40,273. This is an increase of 4,909 voters after the SIR. Claims and objections related to inclusion of names in the voter list or deletion of names from the voter list were submitted between 23 December 2025 and 22 January 2026. The received claims and objections were resolved by 14 February 2026. Collector and District Election Officer Mr. Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar held a meeting with the representatives of political parties today and while giving information about the final voter list data by assembly constituency, informed that there are 01 lakh 68 thousand 225 voters in Antagarh assembly constituency, 01 lakh 96 thousand 151 voters in Bhanupratappur assembly constituency and 01 lakh 75 thousand 897 voters in Kanker assembly constituency, thus the total voters of the district are 05 lakh 40 thousand 273. During SIR, names of 2808 voters were added to the voter list in Antagarh assembly constituency and names of 1506 voters were deleted. This resulted in an increase of 1,302 voters in this assembly constituency. In the Bhanupratapur assembly constituency, 2,224 voters were added and 488 were deleted, totaling 1,736 voters. In the Kanker assembly constituency, 2,048 voters were added and 177 were deleted, resulting in an increase of 1,871 voters. In Kanker district, 7,080 voters were added and 2,171 were deleted, resulting in a total increase of 4,909 voters. The Collector also provided copies of the voter list to representatives of all political parties present at the meeting. He explained that if a voter's name is not included in the final voter list, they can apply online or offline by filling out Form 6, attaching a declaration and necessary supporting documents. While briefing representatives of political parties, he also informed them that young people who have attained the age of 18 by the eligibility date of January 1, 2026, can also enroll themselves in the future voter list by filling out Form 6. Citizens of the district will also be able to fill out Forms 6, 7, and 8, as required by the amendments made from time to time. Collector Shri Kshirsagar stated that during the SIR, applications were received from prospective voters in Form 6, with reference to the upcoming eligibility date of October 1, 2026.
Collector and District Election Officer Shri Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar expressed his gratitude to all citizens of the district and representatives of political parties for their cooperation in making the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) a success, and congratulated all officials, employees, and booth-level officers of the electoral system. Present in the meeting were Mr. Yasin Karani and Uday Prakash Sharma from Indian National Congress, Mr. Pradeep Jaiswal from Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Amol Bedarkar and Tilak Markam from Bahujan Samaj Party and Arjun Singh Thakur from Aam Aadmi Party, Additional Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Mr. Jitendra Kurre and officers and employees of the District Election Office.
