Jagdalpur.*Bastar district team left today to participate in Hyderabad Marathon-2025 organized in collaboration with NMDC Steel Limited. District Collector Harish S. flagged off the players with best wishes.*
*This marathon will be held in Hyderabad on 23 and 24 August, in which runners from India and abroad will participate. The competition will include categories of 5 km, 10 km, half marathon (21 km) and full marathon (42 km).*
*Collector Harish S. said on this occasion that “The youth of Bastar are bringing glory to the district and the state by performing excellently in sports. Their participation in big events like marathon is a matter of pride.*
*Sports and Youth Welfare Department officer Rishikesh Tiwari said that “Bastar players have immense energy and commitment. We are confident that this team will bring pride to the entire state by performing well in the Hyderabad Marathon with its dedication and hard work.*
*NMDC Senior Manager (Personnel) Anuj Singh said that “NMDC has always been encouraging sports. We are confident that the players of Bastar will perform brilliantly in this marathon.*
*Players selected from Bastar district: Damrudhar Nishad, Pandu Ram Vatti, Prakash Sena, Bolmu Ram Poyami, Sukhram Kashyap, Anil Kumar Dehri and Shambhu Kashyap.*
*On this occasion, NMDC Deputy Manager Gaurav Masih, Divisional Sports Officer Ravindra Patnaik, District Sports Officer Ved Prakash Soni, Sports Officer Sunil Pillai, Koteshwar Rao Naidu, Chandramohan Verma, Pradeep Sahu, Avinash Mane, Abhijeet Tiwari and other officers, exercise instructors and sports lovers were present.*
