The historic Gocha Mahaparva, deeply embedded in the cultural heritage of Bastar, is about to begin now. After Bastar Dussehra, this is considered the second biggest festival, which is starting from tomorrow. Complete preparations have been made in the city for the festival, and today the festival committee gave detailed information about it in a press conference.:
Like every year, this time also preparations have been made by 360 Aranyak Brahmin Samaj to celebrate Gocha Mahaparva in a very traditional and grand manner.
This Mahaparva will begin with Chandan Yatra, which will continue till Bahuda Gocha. According to the organizing committee, preparations for all the rituals and traditions have been completed.

At present Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Mata Subhadra are in Anshkaal, and tomorrow after Netrotsav on June 27, the Lord will tour the city in his 32 feet high chariot, so that devotees can take the benefit of darshan.

State Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has also been invited to attend this grand event, for which the committee officials have reached Raipur capital.

The officials say that just like Rath Yatra is celebrated in Puri (Orissa), the same tradition is being followed in Bastar for the last 600 years. One special thing about the Gocha Mahaparva is that it uses 'Tupki' made of bamboo, through which the Lord is saluted through the seeds of Peng - and this tradition is seen only in Bastar.

Special arrangements have been made for the devotees coming from outside, so that they can enjoy this unique festival to the fullest.
So get ready for the grand celebration of this cultural festival of faith, Gocha Mahaparva, which not only brings alive the tradition of Bastar, but also connects devotees from all over the country in one thread.
