Puna Pariyan" (New Flight) scheme has been started in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on the initiative of Collector Shri Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar. Under this scheme, youth from vulnerable areas of the district are being trained for physical training and mental capacity development.
*Objectives of Poona Pariyan Scheme:*
- To prepare youth for recruitment in army, police, forest guard and other government services.
- To make youth physically and mentally strong.
- To provide employment opportunities to youth.
*Training and results:*
- Poona Pariyan institution has been started in village Mulla (Chogel) of development block Bhanupratappur.
- Students selected through screening test in the first phase are attending regularly and receiving physical training.
- Under the scheme, 35 young students have proved their ability and are moving towards success.
- Out of these, 7 students have cleared the written exam for Agniveer, 12 participants have cleared the physical in Chhattisgarh Police Department, and 5 students have cleared the written exam through SSC.
*Future plans:*
- It is planned to launch the Poona Pariyan Yojana on 15th August at the district headquarters Kanker.
- The youth will also be prepared for horse riding, yoga, swimming and other physical activities.
- There is also a plan to organize Army Recruitment Camp and Police Recruitment Camp at the district level in the future.
